As an avid hockey enthusiast, Managing Direct of West Palm Beach’s leading sales and marketing firm, Jaemes Hunt is all too aware of the importance of setting clear, achievable goals to achieve success.
During a motivational workshop, held for his contractors, the 1st Line Global figurehead shared some of the ways he has benefitted from setting goals during his career and also urges young professionals to make strategic goal setting part of their everyday nature.
Originally from Leeds, UK, Mr Hunt first explained to his contractors that after seeing a picture in a newspaper of the Jaws Ride in Universal Studios as a young boy, he always knew that he would live in the USA. After deciding to pursue a career in the sales and marketing industry, Mr Hunt immediately saw this as the perfect opportunity to turn his goal into a reality.
Mr Hunt then went on to explain that previous to his current role as a business owner; he was a semi-professional Hockey player. Although he decided to make a sacrifice for his career to attain the life he wanted, Mr Hunt stated that he always wanted to play hockey in the USA. After setting out a goal to achieve this, Mr Hunt invested in brand new kit and equipment, joined a training session as was quickly scouted to join a team. Mr Hunt said “I now play on the same ice the Florida Panthers train on. Next year, I have two games at the BB&T arena on the NHL ice.”
Mr Hunt then emphasised the reasons, why setting goals in the sales and marketing industry can be the difference between success and failure, due to the high levels of competition.

Saying, “Don’t be a cheerleader in someone else’s story, Be the person people tell stories about”, Mr Hunt used the workshop to encourage the young professionals to take charge of their own growth by setting the right goals that will help them achieve their desired level of success.
Mr Hunt said “100% of the targets you don’t set, won’t happen. Today I wanted to help our contractors understand that they shouldn’t just have dreams, they need to go and make them happen. To be successful at that, they need to plan and figure out how every opportunity they encounter in this industry will be the vehicle to making their dreams a reality.”
